The Plot:
MIKE had come from NYC to LA to be a stand-up comedian and had broken up with his "love of his life" girlfriend six months earlier and was STILL PUSSYWHIPPED! this was the TOTAL AFC wingman. TRENT was another struggling actor in LA, but he was used to the game of getting women. That's what they did. Go places, hang out, get vibe, pull digits.
TRENT was trying to get MIKE to snap out of his funk about his ex-girlfriend. That's why he dragged him around with him... NOT because he didn't have other friends, but because MIKE was his friend and he wanted MIKE to get laid and have fun with the rest of them.

While some of the 'theory' and reasoning in the movie is sound (stuff is explained to you), all the main characters acted AFC, or rather, had some blatant AFC in them.
